With the possibility if the first woman president or the first black president the 2008 presidential elections have been hyped as one of the most impacting elections in this nation. However, if history repeats itself then the 2008 presidential elections will be about the same as the majority of past presidential elections. What does this mean? The 2008 presidential elections can be adequately summed up in an episode of South Park, where the kids have to vote for their school mascot. The kids, like in past presidential elections, end up having to choose between a douchebag and a turd sandwich. Even though the 2008 presidential elections are being seen as different, because of the high profile candidates, the odds are that we will also end up choosing between as douchebag and a turd sandwich. Can anyone tell me the difference between republicans and democrats aside religious fundamentalism? Make note that no matter who wins, current gas prices will remain the same or get worse and, just because we may have a woman in the Whitehouse it does not mean the end of operation casualty Iraq war. But what are we going to do? Even if we have to choose between a douchebag and a turd sandwich in the 2008 presidential elections, its still a choice and just like the kids in South Park learned, a having any kind of choice is better than nothing.
