If current gas prices are eating a hole in your wallet, think about ways for you to save money in other areas of your life, or start car pooling. If you are lucky enough to be able to find someone to carpool with, you will cut your commute costs in half, and if there are three of you, you'll cut it by two-thirds. There are actually web sites that will match you with others in your search for people to carpool with, so using them is a good place to start your search for ride sharing.
The current gas prices are not forecast to drop much, so if the high cost of fuel is really cramping your budget, using public transportation or car pooling will help you save quite a bit of money. Those people driving diesel vehicles are paying lots more for fuel, and unless they make tons of money, they are probably feeling the pain of the current gas prices even more than the rest of us driving gasoline vehicles. Finding others to share the ride is a good idea at this time, and it will cut your fuel budget considerably, clean the air, and reduce demand. |
