Do You Like the Remaining 2008 Presidential Election Candidates? |

The two candidates I liked best are no longer in the race for the 2008 presidential election. I liked Mike Gravel and Ron Paul. Despite the fact that Gravel and Ron Paul were at opposite sides of the political spectrum, I felt that they were the candidates who cared most about the American people, which for me is the most important factor. Of course the establishment didn’t want Gravel or Ron Paul to have a chance of winning the 2008 presidential election, because they might put the interests of ordinary people first. Unfortunately, what the establishment wants it invariably gets. As a result, Gravel and Ron Paul were out of the race in its early stages. Now the 2008 presidential election race is between John McCain and Barack Obama. I cannot claim to like either of the remaining candidates. I think John McCain is too aggressive and he doesn’t bring anything new to the table. Instead he seems to regurgitate the rhetoric of current president George Bush. Barack Obama is right when he says that this country desperately needs change. However, I’m not sure Barack Obama is the change we need. Barack Obama is too smooth and slick for my taste. There is something slippery about him that I just cannot trust. I actually want to like Barack Obama because I agree with most of his ideas, but for some reason that I cannot put my finger on, I doubt his sincerity. Regardless of which candidate wins the 2008 presidential election, I cannot see this country getting the change it needs.
