People Buying Gas Sippers to Counter Current Gas Prices |

The current gas prices are having a deep impact on the American people's way of life. Instead of buying consumer products, people are focusing more on keeping their gas tanks full as well as the refrigerator and pantry. People who can work from home are extremely lucky, because they do not have to put their earnings in the tank for a long commute, nor do they have to waste their time sitting in traffic. Current gas prices have created a climate in this country where people are looking for ways to save on everything, especially with their vehicles. While there are no anecdotal reports of people carpooling more, there is sorry evidence of the impact in Detroit, where sales of trucks, SUV's and minivans are way down. Current gas prices have auto buyers shunning the gas hogs and looking for gas sippers, and the Big 3 in Detroit did not read the market fast enough to convert their factories to vehicles that get better mileage. Once the auto makers start pumping out more gas savers, Detroit will bounce back, and people will turn back to buying American made cars to offset the high cost of current gas price. |
