Current Gas Prices May Bring Back the Family Garden |

We are in for a season of financial pain as the current gas prices are driving the cost of everything up, except for our salaries, of course. The cost energy is a substantial part of everyone's budget now, and current gas prices, especially diesel, are making almost all of us wonder what on earth we can do to stop the bleeding at the pump. Things you can do to save fuel are to drive less aggressively, slow down for red lights instead of using your brakes as heavily, make sure your tires are at optimum pressure, and investigate some of the gas additives that claim to boost your mileage. Other things you can do to save money during these high current gas prices is to simply drive less, or car pool, or use public transportation, if you have it. We are putting in a garden this summer to offset high produce prices, so we can at least have nutritious, delicious food to eat. Maybe as a result of the current gas prices, people will start growing their own food again. My folks told me about how people had to raise their own food during World War II because of so many shortages, so maybe this is a way to offset our current gas prices by raising our own food, which can be very inexpensive. |
