As November draws nearer, the 2008 presidential election becomes increasingly vicious. In truth, I’m disgusted by the whole process. The battle between Obama and Clinton is, for me, one of the most sickening aspects of the 2008 presidential election campaign. The way both candidates sling mud at each other does nothing to endear me to either one of them. All it does is prove that Obama and Clinton are both Machiavellian characters who would do or say almost anything for a position of power. Do we really want a dirty fighter who lacks honor to lead this country?
I also feel that the 2008 presidential election is orchestrated on behalf of the corporate-owned media to make unsuspecting Americans think they actually have a choice. The only two candidates I really liked are out of the race already. Mike Gravel and Ron Paul came from different sides of the political spectrum, but both seemed to care more about people than power. I’d have been happy to see either one of these men run the country. However, neither man had any real chance of wining, because they wouldn’t have furthered the agendas of the wealthy. Corporations didn’t want to sponsor the 2008 presidential election campaigns of Gravel or Ron Paul. When they couldn’t silence either man, the media resorted to ridiculing them.
Corporate America decided who the next President would be long before November 2008. Now all they have to do is manipulate the people into believing that they chose that President democratically.
