I agree with a viewpoint Karl Rove recently expressed concerning the 2008 presidential election. During an interview on Fox News, Rove referred to John McCain's attempt to harm Barack Obama's 2008 presidential election chances. McCain implied that Obama's middle name makes him a Muslim. Rove correctly pointed out that such comments backfire because people know that Obama is not a Muslim, despite the fact that his middle name is Hussein. By assuming that Obama is a Muslim, McCain makes himself look totally ridiculous and takes things much too far. His words actually harm his own chances of success in the 2008 presidential election. This latest election news makes me wonder just how low presidential contenders are willing to stoop in the endeavor to tarnish the reputations of other candidates. Before I watched the above video clip, I had a better opinion of McCain. Though my own political beliefs are just left of center, I respected the fact that McCain is politically moderate. Now I simply think he is a pathetic racist and not worth voting for. The 2008 presidential elections are becoming more like a corny soap opera with each passing day.
