Are you so wealthy you do not even blink when paying two hundred dollars to fill up your SUV or are you as upset as most Americans over the current gas prices? It is obvious the Federal Government is going to do absolutely nothing to address the current gas prices and the tremendous additional expense this is adding to working families' budgets. I have watched the rise in gasoline prices over the last few years and my feeling was once a gallon of gas reached four dollars a gallon, the American public would finally stand up and say enough is enough but this has not happened. Have we become a nation of spineless men and women? Are we willing to accept the current gas prices without organizing and marching on Washington, DC to demand this price gouging and corporate greed stop? I for one do not buy the spin being touted by politicians and the oil companies about the price is all due to supply and demand. Yes, I understand the law of supply and demand but this is not the cause of the current gas prices. The worldwide supply of oil is at a surplus and Brazil just discovered oil off the coast of their nation that is estimated to surpass the Saudi Arabian oil deposits. Many are speculating that as deep sea drilling technology advances, the discoveries of offshore deep sea drilling is going to find oil deposits totally more than the current known reserves. The oil companies are very much aware of this yet they hose the public with increases in the current gas prices everytime a Saudi moron farts. How much more are we going to put up with? I am aware we import less than ten percent of our oil from the Middle East. The bulk of America's oil is imported from Canada and Mexico.
